Privacy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
This is a personal writing site run by Tom Greenwood. It collects as little as it can, never sells anything about you, and runs no advertising trackers.
What is collected
- Subscribers: your email address and any topics you choose to follow.
- Contact form: your name, email and message.
- Visits: basic, anonymous counts of page views so I can see what gets read.
Why
To send you new articles you asked for, to reply to messages, and to understand which writing is useful. The legal basis is your consent (subscribing, writing in) and a legitimate interest in running the site.
Where it is kept and for how long
Data is stored with the site's hosting provider in secured databases that only I can access. Subscriber details are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept for up to two years, then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete what is held about you, or object to its use. Every email has an unsubscribe link. For anything else, use the contact form on the About page and I will reply within a month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies
The site stores a few small preferences on your device, such as light or dark mode and whether the subscribe bar is minimised. These are not used to track you.
